It's safe to say Wale has arrived. First there was the buzz. Then came the Mixtape About Nothing, complete with the first viable single and the inevitable Wayne feature on the remix. With Chillin', he scored his first Billboard spot and got some nationwide airplay. Not to mention the song goes. So far so good. Now he's got "Pretty Girls", which I've been slappin on repeat for the better part of the last half hour. As far as the young cats go, Drake pretty much has the top spot locked down, but I'm convinced Wale's up next. There's not too many real spitters making fun singles. If it's sunny outside where you're at, throw this shit on as soon as possible.

I'm partial to "The Crazy" over "Pretty Girls".
ReplyDeleteI really think Wale is going to be way bigger than Drake, if he isn't already. Wale is, in my opinion, a more innovative and entertaining rapper, in the vein of Kanye West, rather than the more Anthony Hamilton-esque sing-songy R&B voice that Drake has.
We'll see who sells more in the end, though it'll take a while for their careers to play out.
