The Rolling Stones - "Paint It Black"

A #1 smash in '66 and covered by numerous bands today, Paint It Black was the Stones opening the U.S version of Aftermath. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the song ironically hit #174 in the Rolling Stones 500 greatest songs of all time. Synonymous with the Vietnam War, the song stays relevant with it's timeless melody and cultural relevance to the 60's.

Mick Jagger once said "anything worth doing is worth overdoing". The Stones went pretty hard in their heyday. Drugs, girls and excess. You know the picture you get in your head when someone says "rockstar"? These dudes basically invented that image. Gaws on a hundred thousand trillion (see below). Oh yeah, they also had classics for days, and have been able to stay relevant in the game for decades. To give you some perspective,"Get Off of My Cloud" dropped and hit #1 in 1965. Its 09 and these cats still sell out arenas every time they tour. W&B Salute.
