Bob Marley On How To Love A Woman

“You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.”

- Bob Marley

  2. An outstanding passage. I am in accordance with Cerebral.

I think the reason so many relationships fail is because there isn't the type of connection and trust that Bob Marley was alluding to here.

  3. I definitely agree. I think we often times place expectations upon relationships in regards to how we think they SHOULD be, even though each is of its own essence.

  4. I LOVE this quote. I think people base their relationships upon celebrities, the media, and other's relationships. This raises standards and expectations. We forget we're not Will and Jada or Jay-z and Beyonce, and we forget a real relationship isnt what we see on t.v. If we could have Bob Marley's understanding we'd be much happier.

  6. For some this one will be right on, for others it will take a while. It's the realest quote I've seen in a while. Glad you enjoy.

  7. While I appreciate the words of Bob - I see them as far from universal - letting someone you love fall into bad habits, or letting them slink into slacking will only bring one sadness; imo.

  10. Y'all do know that Bob Marley was a notorious womanizer, right? So it's more likely that his advice stems from loving many, many different kinds of women as opposed to being in one monogamous relationship? And before all you nice white boys get your testicles in a twist, I am not downing Bob Marley by any means. He was a man who loved women and showed it.
