David Bowie - "Young Americans"

As the title track off his 1975 album, Bowie came back with a different sound for his first taste of crossover success. Described as 'plastic soul,' the album featured his first number one hit in the U.S with the song Fame. Interestingly enough, Bowie recorded most of the vocals for the album in a span of 8 days. Usually recording at midnight after hearing that Frank Sinatra did the same. In a way the song speaks to most of us as young Americans in the game, to make serious moves but with a desire to make a difference.

  1. David Bowie is a friggin genius when it comes to music... Thank you for giving him recognition. Our generation sleeps on him a little too much!
