Black Eyed Peas feat. Kid Cudi - "Boom Boom Boom" (Remix)

Black Eyed Peas and Cudi came with a universal party song. Another one to add to the pregamming playlist. On a side note, how invigorating are Cudi & Drake to the game? They each have the co-sign from the two most relevant artists, and are the next most talented. And now we get to sit back and watch their artistry flourish. Thank you.

W&B Tribute To John Stockton

John. We fuck with you. You held it down for 19 seasons. That's stupid. You came to work each day, did what you had to do, and kept it pushing. Rocked the short shorts when everybody rocked the short shorts, and rocked the short shorts when nobody rocked the short shorts. You go for that too. Slightweight looked like a dentist. But a dentist with the nastiest pick and roll ever. Forreal forreal. You're not a point guard. You're a point god. And we appreciate you. Wine & Bowties. Classtime.

"Fuck the bartender, I'll get this shit myself." Amsterdam would come with something like this. Such a fresh concept. Welcome Minibar. Instead of waiting for your drinks in a crowded bar, you go to the spot check in with the concierge and throw them your credit card and ID, the bartender throws you a key to your own personal fridge and you and your friends can sip and celebrate at your pleasure. Marvin Gaye - "Where Are We Going"

Where are we going? Somewhere we've never been before. But we'll create it. We can paint it. With colors so sweet. They just can't be beat. It hasn't been done before, but this is our chance. It's our chance for change. Yours and mine, and hers and his. It's us. But not them. War is not the answer.

Luigi Colani's Rotating House

A house with rotating rooms. Is this the future? With a world population that isn't getting any smaller, this may become the movement. A beautiful design that really challenges our usage of space in the home. The underlying assumptions that Colani made about people being able and willing to function in this space is equally refreshing. The house fuckin rotates. Jared the Up & Comer strikes again.

Designer Luigi Colani has created a space-saving house with a six square meter cylinder inside that contains a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The cylinder rotates left or right bringing the room you want into view of the main living room. There's a separate toilet and a small hallway, and everything is controlled with a remote. The house was designed for young professionals who need minimal space while they focus on career

Some Inspiration From Andre Agassi

Haha. Andre Agassi getting inspirational. Who woulda thunk. Gotta agree with the saying though. Everyday above ground is a gift. The dope thing about sleeping is each day you wake up, you've got a fresh start. Yes, yesterday, last month and last year happened, but we have the ability to make the choices that will define the days and more importantly the future. On another note, Andre Agassi had damn near the wettest Nike line of all time.

W&B Artist Interview with Kirsten Harkonen

What compels you about art: It has the ability to change the way people look at the world. It helps us redefine our lives without violence. Art reminds me of the peaceful protests Martin Luther King Jr preached about. He fought for equal rights through non-violence. I think art is able to change the world without using force.
Why is SF great: I love San Francisco. The city has a great energy and wonderful cultural diversity. It's just a fun place to be, everyone seems so happy. I love how small the city is. It's nice to be able to go anywhere and see people I know, this can also be kind of a burden when I want to be alone and can't be.
What's your favorite restaurant: My favorite restaurant is El Toreador. I love Mexican food and chocolate, I couldn't live without it!
Who are some of your favorite artists:Kiki Smith, Joseph Cornell, Cindy Sherman, Jill Greenberg, Weegee, Sophie Calle, David Hockney, Lori Nix, William Eggleston- All these artists have influenced me in different ways. I enjoy a varity of art (photography, painting, installation, sculpture, and performance) These artists have changed me in some way and have therefore helped make me into the person I am today.
How Do you feel about Ed Hardy? I hate Ed Hardy.
What are your favorite websites: fecalface.com, art blogs- i heart photograph, lens culture, who killed bambi. I love using stumble upon (it's an addon for firefox users), it's great for inspiration.

HIV-Resistant People Found In Uganda

(New Vision) A small fraction of Ugandans have been able to naturally knock off HIV from their body, a development that could lead to an HIV vaccine, scientists have said.

Dr. Pontiano Kaleebu, an immunologist heading the Basic Sciences Programme of the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS at the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI), told Saturday Vision that an ongoing study and a previous one at the institute had unearthed signs that some Ugandans may be resistant to HIV.

They have special white blood cells that can only be produced when the virus attacks the body. However, even with the most sophisticated tests, HIV could not be found in these individuals, implying that the virus had tried to infect them but the immune system kicked it out.

People don't talk to the guy next door. . . . People are standing in an elevator -- do you talk to anybody? A guy calls you up and he's got the wrong number -- do you start a conversation? Do you ever say, "Sure glad you got the wrong number!" You're gonna holler, "You got the wrong number!" And God forbid he calls you again: you think he's a stalker, you call the police..."

We Really, Really Love Sports

“ Jordan , for three – AND IT’S GOOD!” I’ve said it and you’ve said it, as we fire another piece of wadded up paper towards the trashcan. We all love MJ, but that’s not the point here. We love sports, a lot.

To start, we have this strange infatuation with sport stats. People rattle stats off as if they are solving a metaphysical quandary, or like they are doing the business of splitting the atom. We listen to them intently – “In 2007, Kobe became the youngest player to reach 20,000 points. Hank Aaron used to hold the record for most career home runs in the Major Leagues with 755, until he was surpassed by Barry Bonds. In the 2007-2008 season, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 42 goals. A-Rod signed the richest baseball contract in history at $275 million.” Blah, blah, blah. If you aren’t betting on the games, why bother memorizing these stats? It’s like you have to know stats to justify that you are a sports fan. Can’t I just enjoy watching the game? I’m a fan of you shutting up about field goal percentages – that’s what I’m a fan of.

I was sitting around the other day and began thinking about the playoff hockey games that were going to be aired later in the night. I didn’t stop there, I picked up my phone and started reading predictions, injury lists, line orders, and so on. I did it like it mattered. I guess what it comes down to is not whether or not it matters, but how much it matters. Does social justice matter? How about poverty? But damn, those Red Wings look good on paper.

We talk about teams like they are our teams or as if we are a part of them. “Let’s go boys!” we scream. And when they win we say, “We did it.” Personally, I didn’t do jack-diddly. I drank a beer and barbecued. The only sweat I broke came from the flames of the coals. But anyway, “We did it.”

Game's on, gotta go.

The Postman Butterfly

The Postman Butterfly also known as Heliconius melpomene lives in the jungles of Central America. In its larval state as a spiny caterpillar, it is a voracious eater with a preference for the passionflower vine. The adult butterfly feeds on this vine's protein-rich pollen as well as nectar, and the added protein gives it a longer lifespan than most butterflies, usually from six to nine months. Because the passionflower is a highly poisonous plant, female butterflies lay their eggs on its youngest leaves, which contain less poison. As the larvae grow, they gradually absorb some of the poison and become immune to it.

(The Independent) Analysis carried out for the research group Iraq Body Count (IBC) found that 39 per cent of those killed in air raids by the US-led coalition were children and 46 per cent were women. Fatalities caused by mortars, used by American and Iraqi government forces as well as insurgents, were 42 per cent children and 44 per cent women.

Guarujá House by Bernardes + Jacobsen

Here at Wine & Bowties we don't like to bite. But you've got to give credit where credit is do. The iciest house I've seen from Kanye. This house is made by architectual duo Dream home doesn't really do it justice. It should have a one word name, like inspiration.

The house is a holiday home for a family with two children, and comprises a pavilion supported by pillars among the trees, overlooking the sea.The building has a steel structure with wooden floors, doors and window frames. The whole idea of the project was created when Thiago was visiting the site. There, in front of the client, he sketched what later would be the transverse section of what was being proposed: a vacation house, for a couple and their two kids. A place where they could invite friends over frequently.

Photographer Leonardo Finotti has sent us these photos of Guarujá House by architects Bernardes + Jacobsen, located in the Brazilian forest.

Chester French: Jacques Jams

This post is long overdue. The next step in the CF movement. Twas a bit difficult picking the right songs for the post but they're selected. The most exciting thing about Jacque Jams are the collaborations. Partnering with Clinton Sparks to produce the tape, the duo partners with everyone from Diddy, to Janelle Monae, to Pusha T. Chester French is the truth. The first rock band to release a hip hop mixtape before their debut. Kof believes.

The mixtape details the career of CF, from their days at Harvard to their rise to fame. On Nerd Girl, D.A touches on his dream mate, while Out At The Compound can be best described as an ode to The Beatles in style and sound. She Loves Everybody is still the headlining track on the tape but CF's other songs support the tape well, while tempting us for their debut album, Love The Future.

I woke up this morning. When I opened my eyes the first thought that crossed my mind was, "Yesss." Not like, "Yesss, I'm doing it.. etc. etc." But Yess like I get to live another day. Ever since I saw Ishmael Beah speak I've had a greater appreciation for this thing we call life. Ishmael spoke about the fact that some nights he didn't know if he would wake up in the morning. He would go to sleep scared. The uncertainty plaguing every pleasant thought his mind could muster.

When I woke up this morning I said, "Yesss." I will eat some food. Talk to my friends and maybe even see some (Ben holler at me). I can breathe through both nostrils, I can run, and jump, dance, and sing. That's more than enough to be happy about.
